In mortar cartridges, the components often consist of a base and a hardener component, which must be thoroughly mixed before use. The screw-on static mixers ensure that these components are effectively mixed together during dispensing from the cartridge.
The number of static mixers included when purchasing an injection mortar cartridge varies depending on the manufacturer and product. Usually, only one or two static mixers are included with a cartridge. Due to the hardening of the composite mortar, the static mixers can only be used once and must be disposed of. Opened cartridges can be reused by changing the static mixer. This often requires several static mixers, especially in the DIY sector, until the cartridge is used up.
